Anette Barrios-Torres is a bilingual Cuban-American artist and performer from Miami, FL. Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn were her childhood heroes. Fascinated with classic films, she spent hours acting out old Hollywood movie scenes in her room, imagining how she might look in black and white.

Her passion for the stage and screen led her to New World School of the Arts, then to Oklahoma City University, where she earned her BM in Music Theater. In addition, she studied Spanish, and relishes any opportunity to combine her areas of study. She discovered her love for teaching while working at Miami Children’s Theater and is now a private acting and voice coach to students of all ages.

She is best known for leading the Broadway national tour of the Lincoln Center Theater Production of My Fair Lady, making her mark as the first Latina to play Eliza Doolittle. Now based in New York City, she has performed at various Manhattan concert venues from 54 Below to Joe’s Pub (The Public Theatre) and has been seen on the Civic Center Music Hall stage singing alongside Kelli O’Hara with the OKC Philharmonic. Her regional credits include The Sound of Music (Maria), Carousel (Carrie), Titanic (Kate Mullins), Grease (Jan), and Shout! The Mod Musical (Orange Girl.)

Along with being a performer, Anette is a web designer and audition coach. In her spare time, she loves to play guitar, practice yoga and watch Carol Burnett reruns with her cat, Joni Mitchell.
